Electric Soulside Label: Ruff Dog Recordings Electric Soulside are Belgian duo Patrick and Steve Hoody, who have been tweaking synths under a number of different guises since the late 90s. Two strong releases on Dylan Rhymes’ Label Blue Black Records in 2004 saw DJ support across the board from Meat Katie to Medicine 8. Their last release on Ruff Dog, ‘Shining’, was a late night dancefloor killer and reached the top 15 of the stateside Balance Pool DJ chart. This release sees the duo take a heavy electro-funk influence, merging tight rhythms, dirty syncopated basses and twisted vocodered vocals. The results are two awesome slabs of chunky electro that effortlessly cross genres and are sure to bring further acclaim to these rising artists. Price:
